Memory foam has the ability to catch the public imagination.  It’s physical characteristics seem to have made it most useful in the area of bedding products.  Although the phrase memory foam has really caught on, the correct name for the foam is actually visco-elastic foam.  The term elastic refers to the behaviour of the foam.

When warm the foam becomes soft and pliable, but when cool returns to the shape it started out as.  The foam will warm up when someone lies upon it.  As it warms it will flex and effectively create a mould of the person lying upon it.  The mould around the body is enhanced because the foam around the body which is not in contact remains cool and firm.  As you can probably appreciate, these characteristics of the foam make it particularly suitable for bedding products such as mattresses, pillows or a memory foam mattress topper.   The foam creates a lying environment that has no pressure points.  The foam evenly supports the body which creates a very comfortable relaxing experience.  

The result is that the sleeper wakes having had a very restful sleep.  The sleep is also good as the person has not tossed and turned as much as with more traditional sleeping surfaces.  By using memory foam in particular bedding products such as the memory foam mattress topper, or memory foam pillows you really are able to significantly improve your night time sleeping experience.
